Seren and I worked together on a project I led to train and develop leaders to become full time coaches in their organisation – one of the largest Emergency Services in the UK. The assignment involved training, assessment, qualification, supervision and finally, Coach accreditation to EMCC standards.
The leaders where highly experienced in their field with many years’ service under their belt. Their motivation to become accredited was moderated by a degree of scepticism about the value and impact of coaching on people’s performance.
In group and one to one settings, Seren was able to shift this attitude by relating her deep knowledge of the psychology and practise of coaching to the realities of the everyday work of the audience.
